A full backup first

Before we touch anything, we take a complete copy of your site. If anything ever needs putting back, it can be.

Taking inventory

We go through every plugin, theme and login on your site and work out what each one does, whether it's actually used, and who probably added it.

Sorting the keepers from the clutter

We look for duplicates (three plugins doing the same job), plugins that are switched off but still installed, old themes, abandoned plugins nobody maintains anymore, and leftovers that old plugins left behind after they were deleted.

Testing on a copy, not your live site

Changes are made and checked on a copy of your site first. Your customers never see a half-finished cleanup.

How do you know what's safe to remove?

We check what every plugin is actually doing on your pages, not just whether it's switched on. If we're not sure, we ask you rather than guess.

Will my site look different?

No. The goal is the same site, minus the clutter. If something has to change, we'll tell you first.

Is this the same as your hacked site repair?

No, but it's related. If we find signs your site has already been hacked during the cleanup, we'll stop and tell you right away. (If you already think it has been, start with hacked site repair.)
